Wednesday 31st October – windsurf * The Manor, Felixstowe – sunny.
F2 Xantos 295 with Tushingham Lightning 7.8m and 38 fin.

km., 13.53 knot alpha
After the cold snap of the last few days at least the temperature is on the
rise, wall to wall sunshine too:) Todays forecast was always going to be
marginal so when Michael Galbrieth messaged on WhatApp that he was at The
Manor I hitched the trailer and went down to met up at midday. It didn’t
look overly inviting with the tide coming in it was a lumpy mess with a bit
of a shore dump and fishermen in most of the bays:( Michael was rigging 7.5
so with the big sea I didn’t fancy 8.5 so took a chance with 7.8 on the
295. With the wind SSE fairly onshore I managed to get off the beach
avoiding the fishermen. I had a few runs a couple of miles down the coast
in marginal planing conditions in a big messy sea. Then the wind dropped, I
then fell in turning had trouble waterstarting and then wobbled back to the
shore to pack up, not the best session this month! Might be some wind
Saturday and a fun session at Southend might be on the cards if I can be
bothered to drive 70 miles but Felixstowe is not a whole lot of fun in a
cold messy sea, at least it will be a better tide at the weekend so who
knows????
